How does a laser welding machine work?

During laser welding, a focused laser beam is directed at the material surface. The high energy density ensures that the metal melts specifically and connects through capillary forces and heat diffusion. The result is a deep penetrating, uniform weld with high strength. Due to the low heat development, the surrounding material remains largely unaffected, minimizing distortion and stresses. This precise process is particularly suitable for demanding applications where quality and dimensional accuracy are crucial.

Which materials can be welded?

Laser welding machines are suitable for a variety of metals and alloys

  • Steel & Stainless Steel: Ideal for high-strength and corrosion-resistant connections.
  • Aluminum & Aluminum Alloys: Low heat input prevents distortion.
  • Copper & Copper Alloys: Efficient welding with high conductivity.
  • Titanium & Titanium Alloys: Perfect for aerospace applications.
  • Brass & Bronze: Precise welds without excessive material heating.

Advantages of our laser welding machine TIG-MAX L HQ

Up to 4× faster welding – with a perfect finish

Thanks to the high laser power, the TIG-MAX® L HQ enables significantly faster welding processes compared to conventional TIG methods – and with minimal heat input. As a result, there is hardly any distortion on the workpiece, and typical discolorations are almost completely absent. This not only saves time but also reduces rework and noticeably increases productivity.

Freedom of movement: Weld where you want

The generous fiber length of 10 meters offers the user maximum freedom of movement, even with large workpieces or in confined work areas. In addition, the system can be easily combined with up to four wire feeder devices and is well prepared for future extensions or integration into automated production lines through the open BUS interface.

Perfect seams – even without years of experience

The software features an intuitive user interface that allows for quick familiarization. An integrated process database with predefined parameters for various materials and material thicknesses significantly eases the selection of the appropriate welding program. Even less experienced users can quickly achieve clean and reproducible welds.

Precisely to the point – directly controllable at the torch

All important parameters such as laser power, oscillation width, oscillation frequency, or wire feed speed can be set directly on the torch head via an integrated LCD display. This allows for precise fine-tuning and consistently high quality of the weld seam – even with changing requirements. Furthermore, the system reacts promptly and reliably to malfunctions or temperature deviations.

Industry-compatible & safe – made for tough day-to-day use

The ergonomically shaped laser welding torch fits well in the hand and is equipped with flame-retardant, wear-resistant materials. An integrated head display provides real-time information on the status of the device. The double push-button control on the torch prevents unintentional activation of the laser and meets the highest safety standards. Thanks to the integrated water cooler, reliable continuous operation is possible even at ambient temperatures up to 40 °C without any issues.

Application areas

Laser welding machines are versatile and offer decisive advantages in different industries. They find application in the following areas, among others:

  • Metal construction and sheet metal processing: Distortion-free and precise weld seams for thin-walled components.
  • Automotive industry: High-strength connections for body and battery modules.
  • Medical technology: Sterile weld seams for implants and surgical instruments.
  • Electronics: Fine connections for sensors, micro-components, and circuit boards.
  • Aerospace: Lightweight, durable welds for titanium and aluminum components.
